Softball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

Salem extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 21-8 to the Miller Grove Wolverines. If the Seminoles were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Salem got a big performance out of Anya Hoard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jahzara Mompremier, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As for Miller Grove, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 18.3 runs this season.

On Miller Grove's side, Armonie Morrison was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and seven RBI. Morrison is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Gabrielle Bailey was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Salem has already played their next contest (against Drew), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Miller Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-16 win against McNair on the 25th.
