After flying high against Silverado last Saturday, Hesperia came back down to earth. The Hesperia Scorpions took a 64-49 bruising from the Burroughs Burros on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-60 back in January.

Hesperia lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Berlynn Miramontes, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. Paige Harralson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Burroughs had a senior duo take command as Kyla Baird went 10 of 22 en route to 24 points and Jhavmine Ave earned 17 points along with eight assists and six boards. Ave is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played. Serenity Haleman was another key player, putting up seven points and 11 rebounds.

Hesperia's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Burroughs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Hesperia has already played their next contest, a 54-33 victory against Apple Valley on the 29th. As for Burroughs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-43 loss against Oak Hills on the 30th.
