Baseball Recap: Fort Atkinson Comes Up Short

Fort Atkinson managed to slip by Edgewood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blackhawks came up short against the Crusaders on Friday, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blackhawks have suffered against the Crusaders since April 5, 2022.

Fort Atkinson dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Edgewood, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Fort Atkinson and Edgewood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Blackhawks (ranked 212th) will meet Lake Mills (ranked 102nd) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Edgewood will square off against Madison Memorial at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (217 vs. 55).
