Baseball Game Preview: Newton Falls Tigers vs. Rootstown Rovers

Newton Falls is 0-3 against Rootstown since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tigers will host the Rovers at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Newton Falls comes in on three and Rootstown on four.

Newton Falls' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Maplewood by a score of 3-0.

LeLand Vargo and Zayne Shelton did most of the damage at the plate: Vargo went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run, while Shelton went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Rootstown beat Western Reserve 5-2 on Tuesday.

Rootstown now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Newton Falls, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
