Basketball Recap: Long Beach Poly Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Long Beach Poly had won four straight road games and Joy Anderson did her part to make it five on Saturday. The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits had just enough and edged the Whitney Wildcats out 38-35 thanks in part to Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Long Beach Poly's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Lemons, who posted four points along with six rebounds and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played.

Long Beach Poly has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Whitney, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Long Beach Poly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-38 victory against Jordan on the 13th. As for Whitney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-24 win against Glenn on the 13th.
