Basketball Game Preview: Kensington KENSINGTON TIGER vs. Paul Robeson Huskies

The Kensington KENSINGTON TIGER will take on the Paul Robeson Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Paul Robeson is hoping to do what Sankofa Freedom Academy couldn't two weeks ago: put an end to Kensington's winning streak, which now stands at six games. Kensington simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sankofa Freedom Academy 54-21. The KENSINGTON TIGER's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kensington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was ANNIE ORTIZ out in front who posted 12 points. DIAMOND SCHULER was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 56-24 stomp they got against Mastery Charter Hardy Williams. The game marked the Huskies' most dominant victory of the season.

Kensington better keep an eye on Ashley Robinson. She was instrumental in Paul Robeson's win, posting 36 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least a third of Paul Robeson's points. Another player making a difference was Amodjonae Mitchell, who put up 12 points.

Kensington pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.4 points per game. As for Paul Robeson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Kensington came up short against Paul Robeson when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 40-35. Can Kensington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
