Softball Recap: Clinch County Wins Going Away Against Wheeler County

Clinch County was forced to take a big loss against Wheeler County on Monday, they got the better of them on Monday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Addy Barber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Makailey Cobb was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Annalee George, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Clinch County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Wheeler County, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinch County will take on Berrien at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Wheeler County, they will face off against Hawkinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
