Basketball Game Preview: South Iredell Vikings vs. West Cabarrus Wolverines

South Iredell hasn't had much luck against West Cabarrus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The South Iredell Vikings will host the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

South Iredell is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Lake Norman, falling 76-36. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Wildcats are ranked sixth).

South Iredell's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ryder Block, who posted 12 points, and Evan Crater, who had three points. What's more, Crater also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, West Cabarrus came up short against Southern Lee on Saturday and fell 55-42. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for South Iredell, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
