Baseball Recap: White County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Chestatee on Friday, White County came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Lumpkin County Indians by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

White County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Gailey, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Gailey has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

With the defeat, White County broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9. As for Lumpkin County, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

While White County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.
