Basketball Recap: Asha Highsmith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead University over Northwood

University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 39-31 to the Northwood Timberwolves. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Timberwolves earlier this season, when they won 44-41.

University lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Asha Highsmith, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Christine Lin, who earned six points.

Even though they lost, University smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

University's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Northwood, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-19.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will face off against Irvine at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwood, they will challenge Laguna Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Northwood: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Laguna Beach has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
