Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask United). They claimed a resounding 71-17 win over the Ligonier Valley Rams. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-12.
United's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly McGinnis, who went 9 of 16 on her way to 22 points and eight steals. McGinnis is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddison Mcginnis, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
The win (which was United's third in a row) raised their record to 3-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points per game. As for Ligonier Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
United wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-36 defeat against Cambria Heights on the 18th. As for Ligonier Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-13 loss against Shady Side Academy on the 19th.
