Basketball Game Preview: Penn Hills Indians vs. Plum Mustangs

The Penn Hills Indians will face off against the Plum Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Penn Hills and three for Plum.

Penn Hills is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Shaler Area on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Penn Hills was dealt a 49-10 loss at the hands of Shaler Area. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Plum scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 71-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seneca Valley. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Raiders are ranked 84th).

Penn Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Plum, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Penn Hills skirted past Plum 47-44 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Penn Hills repeat their success, or does Plum have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
