Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Bethel Jaguars

The Mt. Diablo Red Devils and the Bethel Jaguars will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Mt. Diablo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Mt. Diablo is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since February 13, 2024 on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 64-17 victory over Hayward. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Farmers are ranked 882nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bethel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past Tamalpais 44-41.

Bethel's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Mt. Diablo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
