Softball Recap: David Emanuel Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

David Emanuel Academy came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Trinity Christian Crusaders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 two weeks ago.

Rayleigh Faircloth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaley Flowers, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

David Emanuel Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

David Emanuel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. David Emanuel Academy will square off against Portal at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Trinity Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brentwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
