Baseball Game Preview: Riverview Pirates vs. Summit Academy North

The Riverview Pirates will challenge Summit Academy North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Riverview had taken Milan down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Pirates took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Reds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Summit Academy North, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They never let River Rouge get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering Summit Academy North has won ten matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Summit Academy North's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Riverview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record this season.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Riverview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Summit Academy North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
