Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. Yucaipa

The Roosevelt Mustangs and the Yucaipa Thunderbirds will round out the year against one another at at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. Roosevelt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

Roosevelt's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against JSerra Catholic by a score of 2-0.

Isabelle Salazar and Ireland Churchill scored both of Roosevelt's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Yucaipa gave up the first goal last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Citrus Valley.

Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Yucaipa, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
