Soccer Game Preview: St. Paul vs. Hawthorne

The St. Paul Swordsmen will be taking part in a tournament against the Hawthorne Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

St. Paul fought the good fight in their overtime match against Pomona Catholic on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pacers by a score of 2-1. The Swordsmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hawthorne's offense. They came up short against North on Friday, falling 10-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Saxons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Hawthorne's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for St. Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
