Soccer Game Preview: Firebaugh vs. Norwalk

The Firebaugh Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Norwalk Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Firebaugh's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Firebaugh's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mayfair on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Firebaugh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1004th, while Mayfair are ranked 453rd).

Meanwhile, Norwalk can bid farewell to their four-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. They never let Dominguez get on the board and left with a 2-0 win.

Firebaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-2. As for Norwalk, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-11-1.

Firebaugh beat Norwalk by a goal in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 5-4. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
