Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. Holy Spirit Prep Cougars

For the second straight game, Heritage will face off against Holy Spirit Prep. The Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Heritage has four straight wins, Holy Spirit Prep has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Heritage is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Holy Spirit Prep a 16-0 shutout on Monday. Give the Hawks' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Robby Knight was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Heritage is 2-1 when Knight posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Arant, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Heritage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Heritage pushed their record up to 6-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Holy Spirit Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
