Basketball Recap: Mira Mesa Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Mira Mesa had won four straight games and Ivorii Seals did her part to make it five on Friday. The Mira Mesa Marauders secured a 40-35 W over the Santana Sultans thanks in part to Seals, who went 9 of 17 on her way to 25 points along with five boards and three steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played.

Several Sultans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harper Diaz, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaliyah Cruz, who put up ten points.

Mira Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Santana, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-2.

Mira Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 34-23 victory against Madison on the 28th. As for Santana, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-10 win against San Ysidro on the 28th.
