Football Recap: Stafford Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pretty Prairie last Friday, Stafford came back down to earth. The Trojans were dealt a 62-0 loss at the hands of the Central Christian Cougars on Friday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Central Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Eigsti, who rushed for 94 yards and three TDs on only six carries, and also threw for 104 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Those 94 rushing yards gave Eigsti a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Piercen Huff, who rushed for 105 yards and a pair of scores.

Stafford now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Central Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Stafford will head out to square off against Macksville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
