Baseball Game Preview: Banneker Trojans vs. Dutchtown Bulldogs

The Banneker Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Dutchtown Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Banneker has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 6.

Friday just wasn't the day for Banneker's offense. They lost 18-0 to McIntosh last Friday.

Meanwhile, Dutchtown made easy work of Jonesboro on Monday and carried off an 8-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Trejean Webb was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing seven bases while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Dutchtown's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 2-14 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Carter, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Raoul Clarke, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Dutchtown's record is now 8-15. As for Banneker, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
