Douglass Academy came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Queens Teaching Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.

Douglass Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Queens Teaching, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Douglass Academy will be playing at home against School of the Future at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 2.6, School of the Future 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Queens Teaching does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
