Basketball Recap: Canton Comes Up Short

Canton lost against Towanda back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Canton Warriors were dealt a 51-24 loss at the hands of the Towanda Black Knights. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alexis McRoberts, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and four blocks. The dominant performance gave McRoberts a new career-high in blocks. Cailyn Vannoy was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Towanda, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Canton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-35 win against Wellsboro on the 28th. Towanda has also already played their next game, a 52-42 victory against Wyalusing Valley on the 27th.
