Soccer Game Preview: Katella vs. Valencia

The Katella Knights will square off against the Valencia Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Katella's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Ocean View by a score of 2-0. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Seahawks are ranked 860th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Valencia's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Costa Mesa 2-1.

Valencia is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four matches. As for Katella, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-4.
