Softball Recap: Berrien's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Berrien extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Academy for Classical Education. They had just enough and edged out the Gryphons 12-11. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rebels as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

C Warren was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. M Lovett was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Berrien lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Berrien's win bumped their record up to 11-21. As for Academy for Classical Education, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gryphons beat Berrien by a score of 8-7 on Thursday.
