Soccer Game Preview: Lakota West vs. Centerville

The Lakota West Firebirds will face off against the Centerville Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Lakota West is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Archbishop Moeller 2-1. The victory was nothing new for Lakota West as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Centerville sidestepped Fairfield for a 2-1 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Centerville's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Fairfield are ranked 138th).

Lakota West's record is now 12-2-4. As for Centerville, their record now sits at 12-4-2.

Lakota West was able to grind out a solid victory over Centerville in their previous matchup back in August, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Firebirds since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
