Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant vs. Hill

The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals will take on the Hill Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Hill heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Mt. Pleasant took over last week. Mt. Pleasant sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Yerba Buena on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Hill came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Royals a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Overfelt with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jenifer Lopez, Elah Vilchis, and Monse De La Cruz.

Hill is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven matchups. As for Mt. Pleasant, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-4.
