Football Recap: Great Oak Comes Up Short at Home Against Vista Murrieta + How To Watch

Great Oak unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 47-25 to the Vista Murrieta Broncos on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost eight in a row.

Great Oak's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Lux, who threw for 269 yards and three TDs. 91 of those passing yards were hauled in by Ryder Parks, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Damarii Booth had a dynamite game For Vista Murrieta., rushing for 146 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Booth showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 50 yards. Bryson Beaver was another key player, throwing for 297 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.8% of his passes.

Coming up, Great Oak is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Rancho Verde at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vista Murrieta, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Murrieta Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
