Football Recap: Great Oak Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Great Oak unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 47-25 to the Vista Murrieta Broncos on Thursday. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Great Oak's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Lux, who threw for 269 yards and three TDs. 91 of those passing yards were hauled in by Ryder Parks, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Damarii Booth went supernova For Vista Murrieta., rushing for 146 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Booth was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Beaver, who threw for 297 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.8% of his passes.

Great Oak has already played their next match, a 31-6 victory against Rancho Verde on the 28th. As for Vista Murrieta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 35-17 win against Murrieta Mesa on the 29th.
