Basketball Recap: Westview Takes Down Hamilton in a Playoff Battle

Westview extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Hamilton. They had just enough and edged out the Hamilton Yankees 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since January 28th.

Despite the loss, Hamilton still got an impressive performance from Jade Fort, who posted 24 points and five boards. Fort's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Micah Lemons, who had five points and 11 rebounds.

Westview is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points over those games. Hamilton moved to 27-2 with that loss, which also ended their 19-game winning streak.

Coming up, Westview will square off against Brentwood School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westview will be up against Brentwood School's rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.79 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Hamilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
