Basketball Recap: Upper Perkiomen Comes Up Short

Upper Perkiomen had lost six straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it seven. They lost 48-26 to the Pottsgrove Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-30 back in December of 2025.

As for Pottsgrove, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory they have posted against Upper Perkiomen since January 26, 2023.

Pottsgrove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Jelbaoui, who posted 20 points and eight rebounds. Jelbaoui is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 4-1 (and 4-11 when she doesn't). Nyla'H Stubbs was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and five blocks.

Coming up, Upper Perkiomen and William Allen will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Pottsgrove has already played their next game (against Pope John Paul II), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
