Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Whitney Pioneers vs. El Diamante Miners

Mt. Whitney hasn't had much luck against El Diamante recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mt. Whitney Pioneers will welcome the El Diamante Miners at 6:30 p.m. El Diamante took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Mt. Whitney, who comes in off a win.

Mt. Whitney will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Golden West, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Mt. Whitney came out on top against Golden West by a score of 44-33 on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Pioneers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-37, which was the final score in El Diamante's tilt against Immanuel on Saturday. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

El Diamante's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Mt. Whitney, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-7.

Mt. Whitney took a serious blow against El Diamante in their previous meeting on January 9th, falling 69-23. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of El Diamante's Rian Jones-Dillihunt, who posted 24 points. Now that Mt.
