Softball Recap: Chamblee Bulldogs vs. Milton Eagles
Chamblee had lost five straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 13-15 to make it six. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Milton Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 back in September.
Madison Jones made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Clara Godwin was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
As for Milton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games.
On Milton's side, Annabel Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Reese Rountree, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Dailey, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Coming up, Chamblee will take on Midtown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Milton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
