Basketball Recap: Forest Lake Christian Falls Short of Vacaville Christian in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Forest Lake Christian can now relate to. They fell to Vacaville Christian 51-46. Forest Lake Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vacaville Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.

When it comes to explaining why Forest Lake Christian lost on Thursday, don't look at Kenzie Harrington. Despite the final result, she dropped a triple-double with 18 points, 20 rebounds, and ten blocks. Harrington is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last 21 games she's played. Jordan Bell was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Vacaville Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexi Martinez, who posted ten points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elena Vizcay, who put up 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Forest Lake Christian and nudges their season record down to 16-10. As for Vacaville Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 17-11.

Forest Lake Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vacaville Christian, they will face off against Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Christian will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Vacaville Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
