Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ariana Navarro and Jessie Collins Lead Kennedy to Victory

Kennedy entered their tilt with Tustin on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Tustin Tillers 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Fighting Irish have posted since December 28, 2023.

Leading Kennedy to victory were Jessie Collins and Ariana Navarro. Collins went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds, while Navarro posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals. That's the most points Navarro has posted since back in December of 2024. Liz Tirona was another key player, putting up five points and eight assists.

Kennedy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Tustin, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy will take on Huntington Beach at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Tustin, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Katella at 6:16 p.m. Tustin is facing Katella at the right time seeing as Katella is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
