Baseball Recap: Tiftarea Academy Comes Up Short

Tiftarea Academy couldn't beat Deerfield-Windsor on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Panthers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-4. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Tiftarea Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Deerfield-Windsor, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4-1.

Looking ahead, Tiftarea Academy will host Southland Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.28 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Deerfield-Windsor, they will head out on the road to challenge Southwest Georgia Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
