Basketball Recap: Center Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Charlotte Wallace and Reniaya Applin

Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Oakmont Vikings, falling 59-37. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-40 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Center had strong showings from Reniaya Applin, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Charlotte Wallace, who posted eight points. The dominant performance gave Wallace a new career-high in points.

Center's loss dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Oakmont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-8.

Center will face off against Colfax at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Colfax knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Center likes a good challenge. Oakmont has already played their next contest (against Bear River), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
