Soccer Game Preview: McKinleyville vs. South Fork

The McKinleyville Panthers will square off against the South Fork Cubs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. McKinleyville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.

McKinleyville took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand St. Bernard's an 11-0 shutout. Becker Rine was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, South Fork didn't have quite enough to beat Eureka on Wednesday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for South Fork in their meetings with Eureka: they've now lost six in a row.

McKinleyville's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for South Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15-1.

Everything went McKinleyville's way against South Fork in their previous meeting on October 1st, as McKinleyville made off with a 7-2 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
