Basketball Recap: Connellsville Takes a Loss

Connellsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Hempfield Area Spartans, falling 58-36. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Spartans are ranked 160th).

Connellsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Hempfield Area, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.

Connellsville will take on Upper St. Clair at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Connellsville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Hempfield Area has already played their next game, a 58-28 victory against Kiski Area on the 29th.
