Blanchard had won 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 5-3 to make it 12. They had just enough and edged out the Alva Goldbugs 3-2. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Goldbugs, too.

As for Alva, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

For Alva's part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Stevens, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Rien Buehrer also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Looking ahead, Blanchard will square off against Chickasha at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Alva, they will host Cache at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
