Basketball Recap: Seaside Comes Up Short

Seaside lost against St. Francis back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Seaside Spartans had to suffer through a 63-25 loss at the hands of the St. Francis Sharks. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1253rd, while the Sharks are ranked 358th).

Seaside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for St. Francis, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

The future could be bright for both Seaside and St. Francis: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Seaside will look to extend Pacific Collegiate's three-game losing streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, St. Francis will try to hand Pajaro Valley their fifth-straight loss when the two meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
