Softball Recap: Centaurus Snags 12th Victory in Last 13 Games

Centaurus's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with an 18-15 win over the Mullen Mustangs. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 10-7 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Nora Midness made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Centaurus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. As for Mullen, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11.

Coming up, Centaurus will be playing at home against Loveland at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.45 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. Mullen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
