Baseball Game Preview: Bainbridge Bearcats vs. Cairo Syrupmakers

The Bainbridge Bearcats will square off against the Cairo Syrupmakers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bainbridge's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Cairo 7-0. The game was the first time the Bearcats have beaten the Syrupmakers on their field since April 11, 2023.

Parker Landrum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Bainbridge is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-11 otherwise. Landrum was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Graham Beckham was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Nate Cannon, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Bainbridge's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-12. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cairo, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
