Recap: Rim of the World Fighting Scots vs. Grand Terrace Titans
The Rim of the World Fighting Scots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. The match between Rim of the World and Grand Terrace wasn't particularly close, with Rim of the World falling 50-36. While losing is never fun, Rim of the World can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1189th, while Grand Terrace is ranked 432nd).
Grand Terrace's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayleen Barajas, who scored 25 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Barajas has scored at least a third of Grand Terrace's points. Another player making a difference was Mikhia Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Rim of the World has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Grand Terrace, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-7.
Rim of the World on the road again on Tuesday and play against Colton at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Colton is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games. Grand Terrace does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
