Football Recap: GRACE Christian Skates Past Wayne Preparatory Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask GRACE Christian). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-12 victory over the Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

GRACE Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Waters led the charge by throwing for 233 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes, while also rushing for 38 yards and a pair of TDs. A healthy portion of Waters' aerial production (159 yards to be exact) went to Christopher White, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.

GRACE Christian didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Wayne Preparatory Academy to a completion percentage of just 42.9%. The team can thank Maxwell Madison for the heroic effort on defense: he. GRACE Christian wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.6%.

GRACE Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. White led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 110.2 receiving yards per game.

Wayne Preparatory Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ledger O'Quinn, who threw for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 31 yards.

GRACE Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, GRACE Christian and St. David's will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
