Football Game Preview: Red Lion Christian Academy Lions vs. Milford Buccaneers + Official Tickets

The Red Lion Christian Academy Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Milford Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Lion Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Milford likes a good challenge.

Red Lion Christian Academy's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bohemia Manor 49-0. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 13th in Delaware, while the Eagles are ranked 152nd in Maryland) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Evan Budinger continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 245 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes, while also rushing for 47 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Judah Barber was another key player, rushing for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries.

Another reason for the win was Red Lion Christian Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Charles Broadard and Rex Matthews, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece.

Meanwhile, Milford played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Odessa and fell 44-6. The Buccaneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.

Milford now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Red Lion Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Red Lion Christian Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 202.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything came up roses for Red Lion Christian Academy against Milford in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, as the team secured a 39-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
