Basketball Recap: Pacifica Christian Has No Trouble Against Upland

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Margaret's, Pacifica Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-33 win over the Upland Highlanders/Scots.

Pacifica Christian had a senior duo take command as Vivian Villagrana posted 21 points and eight rebounds and Kassandra Aguniga scored seven points along with five boards and five steals. Aguniga also set a new season-high mark in blocks with three. Cadence Burrus was another key player, putting up no points in addition to six boards, five assists, and three steals.

Pacifica Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Pacifica Christian's record is now 2-7. As for Upland, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Coming up, Pacifica Christian will take on Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Upland, they have already played their next matchup, a 50-27 defeat against Chino on the 8th.
