Soccer Recap: La Mirada Comes Up Short

La Mirada fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Warren on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, La Mirada can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 479th, while Warren are ranked 161st).

La Mirada has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-3 record this season. As for Warren, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. La Mirada is set to face off against their familiar foe Lynwood at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Warren will square off against rival Downey at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
