Softball Recap: Highway 91 Takes a Loss

Highway 91 extended their losing streak to 12 on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-22. They fell 8-5 to the Tekamah-Herman Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Tekamah-Herman this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 last Saturday.

Brittney Faltys was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Lexis Gleason also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

As for Tekamah-Herman, their record now sits at 10-14. The game was the first time they have beaten Highway 91 on their field since August 26, 2021.

On Tekamah-Herman's side, Taylor Lydick was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave Lydick a new career-high. Halle Olson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Highway 91 does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tekamah-Herman, they will challenge Centennial at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
